Mathematical influence:

Isn't it surprising that every number when multiplied with number comes to 9 again. It shows a cyclic pattern that doesn't happen with any other number.

Also, in decimal system -

1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9= 45 = 9

It seems as it has no end. things begin from 9 and end with 9. This is why number 9 is a mystic number with universal powers of creation and destruction.

The geometric shapes let it be circle, hexagon, pentagon or triangle, all the angles total to 9.

Spiritual and Ritual Significance

The cycle of 9 doesn't stop there, it has more significance in Sanatan.

According to Hinduism there are 4 Yugas. Namely Satyug, Tretayug, Dwaparyug and Kalyug.  See how the number 9 features through time immemorial: 

• Satyug – consists of 172,800 years (1 7 2 8) = 18 = (1 8 = 9)

• Tretayug – consists of 1296000 years (1 2 9 6) = 18 = (1 8 = 9)

• Dwaparyug – consists of 864000 years (8 4 6) = 18 = (1 8 = 9)

• Kalyug – consists of 432000 years (4 3 2) = 9.

On an average it is considered that a healthy person takes 21600 breaths in a day which again sums up into the number 9 ie- (2 + 1 + 6=9).

There are 9 Planets, 9 Auspicious Ratri (Navratri), According to Hindu Astronomy there are 27 constellations in our galaxy, and each one of them has 4 directions, and 27 * 4 = 108(1 0 8=9). In other words, the number 108 covers the whole galaxy.

Mala Beads: A traditional Japa mala (prayer bead necklace) consists of 108 beads. Reciting a mantra 108 times is believed to align one’s energy with the universe and deepen meditation.

Deity Names and Scriptures: Many deities are revered by their 108 names, each reflecting different aspects of their divine nature. Texts like the 108 Upanishads underscore its importance.

• Number 9 is very important. Keeping the importance of number 9 Rishi Vyas created 9 Purans, 108 MahaPuran (Upnishads).

• Divine Completeness: The number 9 is often seen as the final single-digit number, symbolizing the end of a cycle and the emergence of new beginnings.

Cosmic Importance

• It is not connected only with religion, infact the natural pregnancy period is of 9 months.

• At more minute level, we can even notice that at 432hz frequency, one feels mental clarity. one can connect with the innerself as well as the universe.
