North is the direction that is located at the 360 degrees of magnetic compass. it means in every plot, in every building, at every place in the world, North is marked at 360 degrees. as per the angular division method, to be very precisely, it holds the area from 348.75- 11.25 degree.

North is the direction ruled by lord Kubera. As per the Vishnudharmottara Purana Kubera is the lord of wealth adorned in golden clothes and ornaments, symbolizing his wealth. His left eye is yellow. He wears an armour and a necklace down to his large belly. The Vishnudharmottara Purana further describes his face to be inclined to the left, sporting a beard and mustache, and with two small tusks protruding from the ends of his mouth, representing his powers to punish and to bestow favors. His wife Bhadra, representing the journey of life, is seated on his left lap, with her left hand on the back of Kubera and the right holding a ratna-patra (jewel-pot). Kubera is the treasurer of the gods. Kubera is the treasurer of the gods. Kubera is also the guardian of travelers and the giver of wealth to individuals, who please him. 

Vastu is a study based upon the balancing of five elements. All the elements are there in different directions. North is the direction having water element and water is flowy by nature. Water element is the element that shows flow. when water element is in balanced state at home, the residents feel flow of customers, flow of work, flow of ideas, the residents experience themselves in flow, their routine in flow. when this water element gets disturbed, the residents feel obstruction s in that flow. Then they feel the lack of customers, lack of ideas, dull routine. they miss their flow with the life then.

1. Study room is good to be there.

2. Living room is good to be there.

3. Porch area is good to be there.

4. This area should be airy to ensure the proper flow of air.

5. Kids bedroom can be there.

6. Drawing room can be there.

Activities to be avoided in the North direction:

1. Toilet should not be there.

2. Store should not be there.

3. Heavy furniture / heavy storage should not be there.

Myths about the North direction:

1. Only north direction is good.

2. Only north facing is good.

3. Only north entrance is good.

1. Blue tones

2. Black tones

All the directions have different function just like our human body. It’s not like only the North is good. All the directions are good in their own way.
