Vastu and Waterproofing – an interesting relationship

Home is not merely a shelter to live and rest. It’s a sacred and spiritual place for each one of us to rejuvenate and re-energize. Vastu is a science of construction that makes the connection between humans and the universe. the shape of plot, the space being used for construction, the material used, the objects placed, all the minor details of a home create the similar mindset of the residents. it is generally said that people make home, if we go deeper, it seems like a home makes a person.

The science of Vastu works on the basis of Five elements that constitutes the whole universe, and these are – water, air, fire, earth and space. water is one of such interesting elements that changes its meaning with the mere change of its position. While steady water is an indicator of wealth, flowing water signifies consistency of work and acceptance of change. but if the water is in the form of leakage or seepage, it can disturb the flow of energy in your homes and lead to financial as well as relationship problems.

Problems arise with leakage and seepage.

Lack of savings – Regular leakage can drain the savings too. drop by drop leakage of water from kitchen, bathroom creates saving related problems.

Regular cough – Leakage problem or dampness on walls which ultimately creates peeling off the wall paint can cause regular cough or other respiratory problems.

Skin problems – Dampness on walls or presence of algae in homes can create skin problems too. this is generally noticed in exterior walls. So, shall be cleaned from time to time.

Leaking toilets – Continuous leakage of toilets can create problems like unnecessary expenditure.

So, such little things don’t have little impacts on our life. So, the leakage issues shall be fixed at the initial stages.

The homes should have waterproof walls with all waterproof products especially on terrace area.

Terraces, basement, kitchen, toilets all should be properly checked and treated from time to time.

If the paint has started peeling off, it should be removed and re painted.

The source of leakage shall be identified and treated.

Bathroom floor tile gaps shall be recovered with good, fixed solution.

Windows and balconies shall have proper shades to avoid get affected by rainwater.

For plant lovers, plants are meant to beautify the space, but if u have found your plants damaging the walls, making them damp all the time and peeling off the paint, then it can create a problem too. relocate them in such cases.

Check if there is any leakage from AC ducts.

Regular leakage can convert into Vastu dosh, so check it and repair it as it can turn into a lifelong problem hampering your growth, happiness and peace in life.
